You’ll start by learning plumbing fundamentals through a structured 12-week training program combining classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world field experience.

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you’ll complete Al Coronado Plumbing’s 12-week training program while developing the technical and professional foundation needed for a successful plumbing career.
You will:
Participate fully in classroom instruction and hands-on plumbing training
Practice plumbing installation techniques in the company’s on-site training center
Shadow experienced plumbers and technicians during field assignments
Learn plumbing installation, troubleshooting, measurement, trade math, tools, materials, and mechanical problem-solving
Follow established safety procedures, workmanship standards, and company processes
Ask questions whenever instructions, materials, procedures, or expectations are unclear
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Respect customers’ homes and property
Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, technicians, and leadership
Acquire the tools listed on the company’s New Technician Tool List and complete your required tool set by the end of training
Maintain a professional appearance and follow company uniform, grooming, hygiene, and customer-property standards
Stay productive and seek your next responsibility when assigned work is complete
This is a hands-on trade. The work can sometimes be dirty, cramped, physically demanding, or uncomfortable. Learning how to perform quality work under those conditions is part of becoming a skilled professional
You do not need previous plumbing experience.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
A genuine interest in building a long-term plumbing career
Reliable attendance and consistent punctuality
A strong work ethic and pride in doing quality work
A coachable attitude and openness to instruction and feedback
Interest in hands-on work, mechanical problem-solving, installation, and troubleshooting
Commitment to learning plumbing fundamentals and applying them correctly
Ability to follow safety procedures, company policies, and workmanship standards
Willingness to obtain the tools required for the position
Professional and respectful communication
Ability to limit personal phone use during the workday
Commitment to maintaining clean work areas and a professional appearance
Willingness to complete work properly without taking shortcuts when conditions become difficult
During the selection process, you should also be prepared to demonstrate basic measurement, trade math, problem-solving, and mechanical reasoning.
Plumbing work does not always follow the exact same schedule every day, so flexibility is important.
Typical start times are 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM, depending on the assignment
Availability to work every other Saturday when scheduled is required
During field assignments, you may need to follow the assigned technician’s schedule when work extends later into the day
You should be comfortable working in environments that may be dirty, cramped, physically demanding, or uncomfortable
