Your New Role

As a Journeyman Distribution Lineman, you’ll be out in the field working overhead and underground distribution lines in and around Horn Lake, MS (Greater Memphis, TN area). You’ll be the go-to person for high-level troubleshooting, repair, installation, and guidance of less experienced crew members.

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace overhead/underground distribution systems and gear

  • Follow switching orders, conduct system inspections, and ensure job site safety

  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment

  • Organize crews, permits, and materials for jobs

  • Train apprentices and work closely with team members to meet project goals

  • Work in all weather conditions and travel when needed for emergency power restoration

Job requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 4 years' experience with underground and overhead distribution systems

  • Valid CDL-A with no restrictions

  • Clean driving record

  • Ability to travel for storm recovery and emergency power outages

  • Physically fit to climb poles, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in extreme outdoor conditions

  • Must pass pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol screening

Preferred

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or technical lineman program

  • Strong background in troubleshooting and operating specialized utility equipment
