Your New Role

  • As a Forklift Operator in Hickory, KY, you'll safely move, load, unload, stage, replenish, and store products throughout the warehouse.

  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other assigned material handling equipment.

  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers according to established procedures.

  • Move inventory to designated storage, staging, picking, and shipping locations.

  • Retrieve and stage products for customer orders, transfers, and outbound shipments.

  • Replenish picking locations and support warehouse stocking operations.

  • Verify item numbers, quantities, warehouse locations, and product condition before moving or staging inventory.

  • Use handheld scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory documents to accurately complete transactions.

  • Support cycle counts, location audits, and inventory discrepancy investigations as needed.

  • Inspect loads to ensure products and pallets are stable, secure, and safe for movement.

  • Identify and report damaged products, unsafe pallets, inventory discrepancies, and equipment concerns.

  • Complete required pre-shift forklift inspections and immediately report mechanical or safety issues.

  • Follow warehouse traffic rules, loading procedures, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.

  • Wear required PPE, use seat belts, observe posted speed limits, sound the horn at intersections, and maintain safe operating distances.

  • Maintain clean and organized aisles, docks, staging areas, and equipment.

  • Assist with warehouse picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and loading orders as needed.

  • Work cooperatively with warehouse leads, supervisors, shipping, receiving, and inventory teams.

  • Perform additional warehouse responsibilities as assigned.

Job requirements

  • At least 1 year of warehouse and forklift operating experience is preferred.

  • Current forklift certification is preferred; company training may be provided for qualified candidates.

  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in active shipping and receiving environments.

  • Ability to read product labels, item numbers, location codes, shipping documents, and inventory records.

  • Basic computer and handheld scanner skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to inventory accuracy.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted shifts based on business needs.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented warehouse environment.

  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and physical or lifting assessment.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.

  • Ability to repeatedly enter and exit forklift equipment.

  • Ability to work at elevated heights while operating approved warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to work in warehouse temperatures that may be hot or cold depending on the season.

  • Ability to work around moving equipment, vehicle traffic, noise, dust, and changing warehouse conditions.

  • Commitment to forklift safety, material handling procedures, PPE requirements, equipment inspections, and OSHA safety standards.
