Your New Role

  • Lead day-to-day mechanical construction field operations in San Antonio, TX

  • Direct foremen, skilled craft personnel, subcontractors, and field crews throughout the mechanical scope of work

  • Plan manpower and adjust labor resources as project demands and construction schedules change

  • Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, mechanical, MEP, and related building system installations

  • Drive field execution from project mobilization and rough-in through startup, commissioning, punch list, and turnover

  • Review blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project requirements before and during installation

  • Coordinate mechanical work with electrical, structural, architectural, and other construction trades

  • Manage look-ahead schedules, daily field activities, material deliveries, equipment needs, and installation sequencing

  • Conduct jobsite walks to monitor progress, workmanship, productivity, safety, and quality

  • Participate in project coordination and progress meetings

  • Monitor labor and field costs while supporting project budgets and cost-control objectives

  • Identify constructability and field coordination issues early and drive solutions that keep the project moving

  • Enforce company safety procedures and OSHA regulations across field operations

  • Maintain quality-control standards and applicable construction and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, startup, commissioning, punch-list completion, and project turnover

  • Communicate field progress, manpower requirements, schedule concerns, and construction challenges to project leadership

  • Coach and mentor field employees while maintaining accountability for safety, productivity, quality, and craftsmanship

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Superintendent, MEP Superintendent, Mechanical Construction Superintendent, or comparable construction field leadership position

  • Strong background in commercial or large-scale mechanical construction

  • Proven experience supervising foremen, skilled craft personnel, field crews, and subcontractors

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, mechanical systems, MEP systems, and building systems

  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, jobsite safety, and construction safety procedures

  • Experience with construction scheduling, look-ahead planning, manpower allocation, and field coordination

  • Experience monitoring labor costs, budgets, productivity, and cost-control objectives

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and related project documents

  • Knowledge of mechanical installation, inspections, quality control, commissioning, and project turnover

  • Ability to coordinate mechanical work with other trades and resolve field conflicts

  • Strong construction leadership, communication, mentoring, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage changing field conditions while maintaining safety, schedule, quality, and productivity

  • Experience with healthcare, data center, aviation, education, government, or major commercial construction projects
