Your New Role

• Work as a Commercial Tenant Plumbing Mechanic on projects primarily throughout Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia

• Run assigned commercial tenant plumbing work from start to finish with minimal supervision

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment

• Perform plumbing work for tenant fit-outs and renovations in high-end Class A and Trophy office buildings

• Read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, plans, and layouts

• Translate construction drawings into properly coordinated field installations

• Coordinate plumbing installations with HVAC, electrical, general construction, and other trades

• Troubleshoot plumbing problems independently and help generate RFIs with General Contractor Superintendents when necessary

• Work with backflow preventers, sump pumps, ejector pumps, mixing valves, and domestic hot-water systems

• Follow applicable plumbing codes, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures

• Work professionally in occupied commercial buildings and tenant spaces

• Communicate effectively with General Contractor staff, building engineers, subcontractors, customers, and other Potomac Mechanical divisions

• Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory

• Provide professional customer service to tenants, property managers, building engineers, and customers

• 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience preferred

• Commercial tenant fit-out and renovation experience preferred

• Experience working in Class A or Trophy commercial office buildings preferred

• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures

• Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision

• Ability to read and interpret plumbing plans, drawings, specifications, and layouts

• Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and regulations

• Plumbing license or Journeyman license preferred

• Valid driver's license

• Effective communication and customer service skills

• Ability to coordinate effectively with general contractors and other skilled trades

• Bilingual skills are a plus

• Ability to follow OSHA requirements and established workplace safety procedures
