Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

We are hiring an experienced AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for a full-time onsite role in Tigard, Oregon.

This is a great opportunity for inspectors with strong structural steel experience looking for steady work, consistent overtime, and long-term stability.

Compensation

• $70,000 to $90,000 per year based on experience, with flexibility for higher pay for the right candidate

• Consistent overtime available, paid at time and a half

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and nondestructive inspection of welds in a structural steel fabrication environment

• Ensure compliance with AWS codes including D1.1, D1.5, and D1.8

• Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and WPS documents

• Document inspection results and support QA/QC processes

• Collaborate with production teams to resolve weld quality issues

Requirements

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required

• NDT Level II certification in MT and UT required

• Minimum 3 years of welding inspection or QA/QC experience in structural steel

• Strong knowledge of AWS codes and fabrication standards

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and weld procedures

Work Environment

• Full-time onsite in a fabrication shop

• Minimal travel; stable, long-term position
