Your New Role

As a Business Development Professional, in Salem, OR, you'll play a key role in driving sales, expanding market reach, and managing customer relationships. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth

  • Managing quotes, orders, and projects, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction

  • Acting as the main liaison between customers and internal teams, including Sales, Engineering, and Project Management

  • Analyzing customer requirements, developing strategies, and optimizing marketing efforts

  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure timely project completion

  • Addressing customer inquiries, providing solutions, and maintaining long-term partnerships

  • Traveling up to 30% to meet with clients, attend conferences, and provide on-site support

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. Working for either engineering or construction firms, business consulting or an electric utility (IOU’s, Municipality or Cooperative)

  • Proven experience in strategic planning, goal setting, and collaboration with senior management.

  • Strong B2B sales background in telecom, utility, construction, or manufacturing; experience in complex sales environments required.

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Management preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction markets, business sectors, and civil engineering projects (preferred).

  • Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a consultative selling approach.

  • Ability to analyze RFQs, specifications, and engineering drawings.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, proposal development, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or NetSuite preferred.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
