Your New Role

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations at Bradley Mechanical's North Chesterfield, VA office

• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and complete month-end and year-end closing activities

• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial information for company leadership

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll coordination

• Monitor cash flow and help maintain accurate financial records

• Review job costing, service department profitability, and operating expenses to identify trends and areas for improvement

• Ensure accounting records and procedures follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Assist with tax preparation, S-corporation reporting, and annual audits in coordination with outside professionals

• Maintain internal controls and organized accounting documentation

• Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to manage financial data, build reports, and track key performance indicators

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency through automation, software integrations, and updated reporting processes

• Present financial findings to the COO and CEO to support budgeting, pricing, and operational decisions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience; 3-5+ years preferred

• Active CPA license highly preferred

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop required

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial statements, and month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting

• Experience with account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management

• Ability to analyze financial performance, job costing, profitability, and financial KPIs

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies independently

• Ability to explain financial information clearly to company leadership

• Comfortable learning new accounting software and improving existing systems

• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software preferred

• Familiarity with Excel Power Query, Zapier, reporting dashboards, or other accounting automation tools preferred

• Accounting experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, home services, or related industries preferred

• Experience developing financial dashboards and management reporting tools preferred

• Ability to work full-time, on-site in North Chesterfield, VA
