Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday | Occasional weekends, evenings, and overnights
Shift Options: 8-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour shifts possible
Job Location: On-site at various locations throughout Maryland, with a focus on Northern Maryland—traveling may be required

As a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), your mission is clear: keep job sites safe, compliant, and running efficiently. You’ll be the go-to authority on OSHA regulations and federal site safety requirements. Expect to work hands-on at a variety of project sites across the state, especially in Northern Maryland, with travel as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain robust safety programs that align with OSHA and company protocols.
Conduct on-site inspections, identify hazards, and enforce safety standards across active projects.
Deliver safety training to crews, covering PPE, emergency protocols, and hazard mitigation.
Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with management to create strategic safety initiatives and reduce workplace risk.
Document all inspections, incidents, and training for internal and external audits.
Serve as a trusted on-site advisor for all things safety.

OSHA 30 Certification (Required)
HAZWOPER Certification (Required)
3–5 years of safety experience in commercial or federal construction environments
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and risk management practices
Experience leading training and conducting incident investigations
Proficiency in safety compliance documentation and reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to influence and motivate teams towards a safety-first culture
Willingness to travel within Maryland as needed
Must pass a federal background check (required for all federal site work)
High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum education requirement)
While the primary focus is on projects within Maryland, assignments may occur anywhere in the U.S. As a federal contractor, we go where the work is, and we prioritize keeping our team working over issuing layoffs. Flexibility for occasional nationwide travel is essential.
