Your New Role

As a Plumbing Project Engineer based in Portland, OR, you’ll be the engine behind smooth project execution. You’ll coordinate between vendors, project managers, and field crews to ensure that plumbing and mechanical systems are delivered on time, on budget, and up to spec.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Request and evaluate vendor quotes; ensure accuracy of pricing and invoicing

  • Assemble full submittal packages and manage revisions

  • Apply for plumbing and mechanical permits; schedule inspections

  • File and organize documentation for active jobs

  • Track material lead times and schedule deliveries to align with project milestones

  • Communicate with jobsite foremen and shop manager for materials and logistics

  • Maintain pricing history and bulk-shop commodity materials

  • Identify and verify incoming materials at the shop

  • Approve invoices using Docuware

  • Compile close-out documents including warranties, O&M manuals, and as-builts

Job requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience or recent college graduate with a degree in construction engineering

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word (or similar software)

  • Experience with PDF markup/editing tools like Bluebeam or Acrobat Pro

  • General understanding of the construction process

  • Familiarity with plumbing materials, equipment, and fixtures is a plus (not required)

  • Knowledge of vendor networks, supply chains, and product sourcing is helpful

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines with precision
