Your new role:

As our Plant Manager, your mission is to helm the core operations of our plant. You’ll be expected to:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Manage all plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving.
  • Coordinate activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are met promptly and cost-effectively.
  • Oversee production output, product quality, and on-time shipping, increasing production capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs.
  • Allocate resources effectively, utilizing assets to produce optimal results, and develop and control profits, plans, and budgets.
  • Manage capital asset maintenance, establish and monitor overall plant performance, and maintain existing facilities and equipment.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals, maintain shop floor organization, and ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Address employee issues, foster a trusting team relationship, and assist with recruiting and developing staff.
  • Develop systems that optimize productivity and performance targets, ensuring effective return on assets.
  • Stay updated with the latest production management practices and enhance team professional development through training and seminars.

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as Plant Manager
  • Experience working with metal fabrication, welding, fitting, press brakes, etc. - doesn't need to have direct experience doing any welding, fitting etc. but has to understand how welding and fitting work
  • A BS degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership, team building, decision-making, and people management skills
  • Proven work experience as a plant manager
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Proficient knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly
  • Quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line
  • Computer literacy
  • Meet production deadlines and shipping dates
  • Knowledge about safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
