If you’re a hands-on diesel mechanic ready to troubleshoot, repair, and keep critical mining equipment running, this is your chance to step into a role that demands skill and delivers impact at the Lucky Friday Mine.
Hourly pay range of $30.26 to $41.56, depending on experience, plus incentives and profit sharing after 90 days
Full-time, stable position with 40 to 50 hours per week

Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on mobile heavy equipment at the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho
Complete scheduled and hours-based service including lubrication and fault repairs
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and low voltage electrical systems
Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed
Diagnose and repair drivelines including gearboxes, differentials, and wheel ends
Conduct tire changes on rubber-tired equipment
Build and repair hydraulic hoses
Use laptops or tablets to access equipment data and input maintenance records
Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory tracking
Perform quality checks and testing on completed repairs
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment
Follow MSHA regulations, environmental policies, and all site safety procedures
Work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 4-5-5-4 schedule, alternating between day and night shifts

Associate’s degree in Diesel Technology or a related field preferred
4 to 10 years of hands-on experience in diesel or heavy equipment maintenance
Strong expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and advanced troubleshooting
Proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
Experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
Prior experience working with drilling and bolting equipment fleets preferred
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Ability to work rotating day and night shifts in a 24/7 operation
Comfortable working in underground mining environments
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, compliance, and quality work
Effective team player with clear communication skills
