Low Voltage Technician

Yellowstone Local is proud to represent Lane Electronics & Alarm Systems Inc., an industry
leader in low-voltage and life safety systems.

Earn $25 to $35 per hour, receive a company vehicle, and work Monday through Friday installing, programming, troubleshooting, and servicing low-voltage systems.

We're looking for a technician with more than 5 years of hands-on experience who can program and configure equipment, independently diagnose system problems, and complete service and repair work.

You must have direct experience with fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control, or related low-voltage systems. Experience limited to assisting other technicians is not sufficient.

What You’ll Do

• Install, inspect, program, configure, troubleshoot, service, and maintain low-voltage systems for residential and commercial customers.

• Work with fire alarm systems, automatic gates, access control, CCTV, security alarms, and related electronic equipment.

• Independently diagnose electrical, electronic, and low-voltage system problems.

• Program and configure low-voltage devices and system components.

• Troubleshoot IP-based connectivity issues involving IP addressing, device communication, ports, and basic network configuration.

• Complete equipment repairs and routine maintenance.

• Document service work, troubleshooting findings, and completed repairs.

• Communicate with customers about system issues and recommended solutions.

• Work independently or alongside other technicians based on project requirements.

• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle while following safety procedures.

Required

• More than 5 years of relevant hands-on low-voltage experience.

• Direct experience working with at least one of the following: fire alarm, security alarm, CCTV, or access control systems.

• Hands-on experience programming and configuring low-voltage systems and equipment.

• Ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair low-voltage systems.

• Experience performing programming, troubleshooting, and service work directly, rather than only assisting other technicians.

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and IP-based low-voltage systems.

• Working knowledge of basic networking, including IP addressing, device connectivity, ports, and network troubleshooting.

• Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Ability to use ladders, work at heights, and work in attics or confined spaces as required, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Willingness to learn additional low-voltage systems through cross-training.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience programming, configuring, or servicing two or more low-voltage systems, such as fire alarm, security alarm, CCTV, or access control.

• Experience installing and servicing IP-based CCTV, access control, or other network-connected low-voltage systems.
