Your New Role

As a Journeyman Roofer, you’ll work in various job sites across California. You are expected to:

• Lead the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, built-up roofing, modified bitumen, metal, tile, restoration coatings, spray polyurethane systems, fluid-applied systems, and shingles in various job sites across California

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine material needs and best methods

• Supervise and guide apprentices and laborers, ensuring safety and quality at all times

• Execute high-caliber work in flashing, underlayment, insulation, and drainage systems

• Perform quality control inspections to maintain high standards

• Communicate daily with Foremen and Project Supervisors about project progress and site needs

• Operate roofing equipment, torches, hand tools, lifts, and rooftop safety systems

• Assist with inventory tracking and material planning

• Serve as a mentor and trainer to Level 1–7 apprentices

• 6–8 years of hands-on roofing experience, including advanced apprenticeship

• Mastery of low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems

• Strong knowledge of industry codes and manufacturer specifications

• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

• Physical ability to lift 75+ pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• CPR/First Aid certification

• Experience operating lifts, boom trucks, or other construction equipment

• Experience leading job site safety meetings or tailgate talks
