Your New Role

• Work in Austin, TX and surrounding service areas, depending on the specific employer opportunity.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems using industry-standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment.

• Perform HVAC service, preventive maintenance, and repairs based on system condition and customer needs.

• Troubleshoot heating, cooling, electrical, and mechanical HVAC components.

• Use HVAC gauges, meters, diagnostic instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and equipment documentation.

• Identify system problems and determine appropriate repair or service solutions.

• Communicate system conditions, completed work, and service recommendations clearly and professionally.

• Complete work orders and required service documentation accurately.

• Follow applicable safety procedures, HVAC codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.

• Installation, refrigeration, commercial HVAC, on-call service, and other specialized responsibilities may apply depending on the specific opportunity.

• Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC service, maintenance, repair, installation, or closely related field experience.

• Hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems.

• Working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, electrical controls, and mechanical HVAC components.

• Ability to safely use HVAC gauges, meters, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment documentation, and manufacturer specifications.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently in a field service environment.

• Professional customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to complete work orders and service documentation accurately.

• Ability to follow established safety procedures and applicable HVAC requirements.

• Valid driver's license may be required depending on the employer and position.

• EPA Section 608 Certification may be preferred or required depending on job responsibilities.

• Commercial HVAC, refrigeration, installation, and other specialized experience may be required for certain opportunities but is not required for every position.

• Additional licenses, certifications, background requirements, driving requirements, and qualifications will vary by employer.

• Ability to perform the physical duties commonly associated with HVAC field service, including working from ladders, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling tools and equipment, and working in indoor and outdoor environments.
