Your New Role

  • Work as an HVAC Technician in Cockeysville, Maryland

  • Install, start up, service, troubleshoot, and diagnose residential HVAC systems

  • Work on gas furnaces and oil furnaces

  • Install, service, and diagnose air conditioning systems

  • Work on conventional heat pumps and mini-split heat pumps

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot gas and oil boilers

  • Install and service standard water heaters and heat pump water heaters

  • Perform preventive HVAC maintenance and servicing

  • Diagnose system failures and determine appropriate repairs

  • Evaluate equipment and make informed decisions regarding repair versus replacement

  • Read and interpret HVAC wiring diagrams

  • Perform brazing as required for HVAC installation and service

  • Use electrical meters and accurately interpret readings

  • Use combustion analysis equipment and interpret combustion readings

  • Perform basic sheet metal fitting, fabrication, and installation

  • Maintain most tools required for typical residential HVAC installation and service work

  • Work safely in attics, crawl spaces, and other residential work areas

  • Maintain professional conduct and communicate effectively with customers

Job requirements

  • Valid driver's license for job duties that require operating a company vehicle

  • Ability to provide a current driving record and meet applicable company and insurance requirements for operating a company vehicle

  • Ability to provide acceptable documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States as required by federal law

  • Minimum Maryland State Journeyman HVAC License

  • Minimum Type II CFC certification

  • Additional trade licenses or certifications, such as gas fitter or electrician credentials, are a plus

  • Experience with residential gas furnaces, oil furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pumps, mini-split heat pumps, gas boilers, oil boilers, standard water heaters, and heat pump water heaters

  • Ability to start up, troubleshoot, and diagnose the residential HVAC systems listed above

  • Preventive maintenance experience

  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams

  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Brazing proficiency

  • Ability to use electrical meters and interpret readings

  • Ability to use combustion analysis equipment and interpret readings

  • Basic sheet metal fabrication, fitting, and installation knowledge

  • Ability to provide most standard tools required for typical HVAC installation work

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in attics and crawl spaces as required, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions

  • Professional conduct when working in customers' homes and on job sites

  • Excellent customer communication skills
