Your New Role

• Operate and maintain steam and hot water boiler systems within the scope of a Maryland Grade 4 Stationary Engineer License in Millersville, Maryland

• Monitor system performance and conduct routine inspections of boilers, burners, feedwater systems, valves, and safety devices

• Perform equipment startup, shutdown, and operational adjustments according to established procedures

• Follow Maryland Boiler Safety regulations and applicable local requirements

• Record operating data, readings, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately

• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and mechanical troubleshooting

• Respond to equipment alarms, operational concerns, and service requests

• Support the operation of pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and associated mechanical systems

• Work within commercial, industrial, healthcare, and government facilities

• Active Grade 4 Stationary Engineer License in the State of Maryland

• 1 to 3 years of experience operating boiler systems or similar mechanical equipment

• Knowledge of steam systems, hydronic systems, boiler controls, and related mechanical operations

• Ability to interpret gauges, operating logs, and technical documentation

• Strong attention to safety procedures, accuracy, and recordkeeping

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in mechanical rooms and high temperature environments

• Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on call assignments

Preferred:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

• Experience in government, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial facilities

• Familiarity with water treatment systems and basic chemical testing methods

• Exposure to HVAC equipment or general building maintenance operations

• Ability to diagnose issues and support multiple types of mechanical systems and equipment
