As an Estimator based in Salem, OR, you’ll play a critical role in preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for custom engineering and manufacturing projects. Your work will help determine feasibility, win contracts, and drive project success.
Analyze Requests for Quotations (RFQs), drawings, and specifications
Complete accurate material takeoffs for steel fabrication and utility structures
Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors
Prepare full-scope cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead
Add strategic margins to maximize both competitiveness and profitability
Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and client expectations
Lead internal quote review meetings when needed
Maintain cost databases and suggest process improvements for better efficiency

Minimum of 3 years of cost estimating experience, ideally in the steel or utility sectors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to analyze data, manage multiple bids, and produce client-ready cost reports
Strong organizational and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
Positive, team-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and with vendors
