Your New Role

As the Electrical Estimator/Special Projects Manager, you’ll lead the charge on high-value, short-duration commercial electrical projects from estimate to execution. You’ll meet directly with clients, scope projects, and ensure everything runs smoothly from the first bid to the final walk-through.

Location: PorterMatt Electric’s office at Huntington Beach, CA

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate takeoffs (labor, material, subs, equipment, etc.)

• Build pricing estimates that meet both profit targets and project needs

• Meet with clients—face-to-face—to understand, scope, and sell jobs

• Negotiate project details with a range of clients (tenant improvements, prime contracts, etc.)

• Source competitive material quotes and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors

• Manage documentation such as RFIs, submittals, plans, and specifications

• Deliver sharp, professional proposals using Microsoft Word

• 3–5 years of experience with a major estimating platform (Accubid or Sage preferred)

• Background in commercial electrical construction

• High proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical plans/specs

• Strong understanding of electrical installations and construction workflows

• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)

• Experience with construction documentation (RFIs, submittals, etc.)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• High school diploma or GED required
