As a Designer Drafter in our Salem, OR office, your main focus will be designing steel structures for utility and telecom systems using SolidWorks.
Create and modify structural steel layouts and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
Use 3D AutoCAD and other tools to support project design when needed
Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance
Apply knowledge of the steel industry and power infrastructure to produce highly accurate work
Interpret and apply NEC, NESC, and internal quality standards
Conduct quality reviews and maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Contribute to continuous improvement in our design workflows and processes

1-2 years of professional drafting/design experience specifically in the steel industry
Proven, verifiable experience using SolidWorks in the steel industry
Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of steel fabrication processes and structural engineering concepts
Familiarity with NEC and NESC standards
Experience with GIS mapping software is a plus
Associate’s degree in drafting/design or a related technical field (Bachelor’s is a plus)
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly and accurately
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Driven, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
