Your New Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the full range of financial operations for a $30 million electrical contracting company. You’ll lead all accounting activities, maintain internal controls, and ensure accurate job costing and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, job cost accounting, and payroll

  • Prepare financial reports and manage work-in-progress (WIP) and percentage-of-completion reporting

  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements

  • Serve as the primary contact for external CPAs, banks, and bonding agents

  • Support project managers and leadership with financial insights to guide decision-making

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and reporting processes

  • Lead and develop the internal accounting team

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Active CPA license

  • 6–10 years of professional experience in accounting or financial management

  • Familiarity with construction accounting, including job costing and WIP reporting

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance standards

  • Experience working with leadership teams and external financial partners

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lead and mentor accounting staff
