Work on-site in Portland, Oregon as the primary Construction Bookkeeper
Manage day-to-day construction accounting and bookkeeping functions
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Maintain accurate job costing and work-in-progress reporting
Support percent-complete accounting and project financial tracking
Prepare customer invoices, progress billing, and retainage documentation
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Process vendor payments and maintain lien waiver documentation
Reconcile accounts and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
Generate financial reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Maintain fixed asset records and assist with cash flow tracking
Partner with project managers to support budgeting and project profitability

3+ years of construction accounting or construction bookkeeping experience
Experience in plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or related construction industries preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and WIP reporting
Experience with percent-complete accounting methods
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Experience using document management systems such as DocuWare preferred
Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP and certified payroll reporting
Knowledge of progress billing, Schedule of Values, and retainage processes
Experience handling lien waivers, notices, and collections
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
