Your New Role

  • Serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for TDI Refrigeration in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

  • Own the company's overall financial health, financial planning, accounting operations, reporting, and controls across all locations.

  • Manage short and medium-term cash flow, liquidity, borrowing capacity, debt, banking relationships, and line-of-credit requirements.

  • Deliver timely financial reporting and actionable analysis to the CEO and leadership team at both company and location levels.

  • Lead annual operating and capital budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly budget-to-actual analysis covering revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, overhead, staffing, cash flow, and capital requirements.

  • Measure profitability by location, state, department, service line, customer, contract, and project while identifying margin issues and supporting corrective action.

  • Drive working-capital management across accounts receivable, collections, billing, retainage, unbilled work, accounts payable, inventory, purchasing terms, and vendor-payment strategy.

  • Own job costing and WIP reporting, including cost-to-complete estimates, overbilling and underbilling, project margin fade, and change-order financial controls.

  • Partner with operations and sales leadership on pricing strategy, labor rates, material markups, service pricing, travel costs, contract terms, and project margins.

  • Oversee the monthly close, general ledger, balance-sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, AP, AR, payroll accounting, financial policies, CPA coordination, and year-end review or audit preparation.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial-risk management, including payment authority, bank-account controls, ACH and wire security, credit-card controls, fraud prevention, and covenant monitoring.

  • Provide financial analysis supporting insurance programs, employee-benefit renewals and pricing, and 401(k) fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Establish approval and ROI standards for major capital expenditures, including vehicles, equipment, facilities, technology, new locations, and acquisitions.

  • Support the CEO with company valuation, succession planning, acquisitions, ownership transitions, and long-term capital strategy.\

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.

  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience.

  • At least 5 years of senior financial leadership experience in a role such as CFO, Vice President of Finance, or Controller.

  • Demonstrated experience leading the financial function of a privately held, multi-location organization.

  • Construction, mechanical contracting, refrigeration, skilled trades, or trade-services industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong command of financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, working capital, treasury, banking relationships, internal controls, and corporate finance.

  • Substantial experience with contractor accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, cost-to-complete forecasting, project profitability, and margin analysis.

  • Experience addressing multi-state tax matters and coordinating with external CPAs, auditors, banks, brokers, and professional advisors.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams while partnering effectively with executive, operations, and sales leadership.

  • Ability to handle confidential financial, legal, and employee information with discretion and communicate complex financial information clearly.
