Your New Role

  • Serve as the primary Buyer Experience Consultant for customers throughout the design and selection process

  • Prepare for, conduct, and document customer design meetings

  • Guide buyers through electrical and low voltage plan mark-ups and upgrade selections

  • Verify that electrical and low voltage plans are complete, legible, and accurately reflect customer selections

  • Review selections and pricing for accuracy before plans are released to estimating and field teams

  • Maintain standardized design packets, selection sheets, and pricing menus

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer calls, emails, and questions

  • Keep customers informed about selections, pricing, change orders, and installation timing

  • Address customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate

  • Coordinate with the Custom Electric & Audio/Video division to ensure sold products and upgrades are installed as specified

  • Follow up with customers after design and closing to identify additional retail upgrade opportunities

  • Present relevant lighting, audio/video, networking, security, home automation, outdoor, and garage solutions

  • Coordinate retail project scheduling and handoffs with the installation team

  • Gather customer feedback and reviews to help strengthen the design and retail process

  • Maintain accurate records, tracking, and reporting exclusively within authorized company software, devices, and operating systems

  • Work with IT and management when existing systems do not support a required business process rather than using unauthorized external tools

  • Maintain confidentiality and represent C&B professionally with customers, builders, coworkers, and business partners

Job requirements

  • At least 1–2 years of residential electrical experience

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to guide customers through detailed design decisions and product selections

  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing plans, pricing, selections, and change orders

  • Ability to read, review, and accurately mark up electrical and low voltage plans

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, estimating teams, field personnel, and installation teams

  • Consultative sales skills with the ability to identify and present relevant retail and home upgrade solutions

  • Comfortable learning and discussing electrical, lighting, low voltage, audio/video, networking, security, and home automation products

  • Ability to maintain accurate customer and project records using authorized company systems

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with evenings and Saturdays as design appointments or model home events require

  • Ability to comply with applicable company confidentiality, workplace conduct, drug-free workplace, and employment policies
